Round 5 - Ipswich
posted 31st May 2007 TEKA takes on Ipswich
The big trip north absolutely worth the effort. It’s the middle of the series and there’s been some movement on the championship ladder! This race is 7 hours, a turning point in the season for some, for others it may support what they’ve already earned.
Qualifying would be the sum of each of the three drivers best lap time in their own 10 minute session.
Intrepid just too quick over all three drivers to claim pole followed by Fourplay and Kinetic Buildline.Dynamite, GP Racing and Sideways Racing filled the first three spots in B Grade.
After seven hours and over 400 laps of close racing Fourplay would be victorious followed by Neil’s new BRM chassis (Triple One) and the flying Phoenix of Kinetic Buildline.
Intrepid were strong throughout the race but had a coming together with another kart. Buildline rewarded for consistency and speed with 4th overall and Road Runner should remain at the trop of the Championships ladder with a fifth. EKA also didn’t do their Championship any harm finishing 6th.
In B grade Dynamite were just to fast all day running with leaders and winning by a number of laps. Also competitive were Toynton coming 2nd and in the top ten outright followed by Mitchell’s Able Door Services 2 with their first podium, well done!
