TEKA at the V8 Supercars Sydney 500

Teka was represented by several committee members at the Sydney V8 Supercars Sydney 500 at the “Australian Karting Association” Stand at Homebush over the Weekend.

Committee members maned the stand from Friday to Sunday and handed out hundreds of Teka flyers to many interested V8 Supercar fans. We generated heaps of interest with Felix’s Videos, Buildline’s Immaculate Kart and the Teka clothing our committee members were wearing.

Many fans were excited to learn about our series and see our Endurance Kart in the flesh. A lot of interest was generated when we described our style of racing to the fans and that it was very similar in format to the endurance races that the V8 supercars run throughout the year. The advantage of being able to split costs among team members was also very popular and when they found out the costs of our style of racing they were quite shocked at how affordable it is. Several people that visited our stand confirmed they would be making an appearance at Picton to check it all out and many fans were going to try and get a team of friends together to come join our series.

Not only did we get to represent TEKA we also got to check out the V8 Supercars and some of the great supporting classes. What a great event and I still can’t get over how loud and exciting the V8 Supercars are to watch live. A great weekend all round.

A massive thank you goes out to all those who gave up time over the weekend to man the stand: Justin Sydenham, Michaela Sydenham, Felix, Matt Hill and most of all Matt Scott and especially Clint Ironside who spent 3 days at the stand. Also a quick thank you to Myles and Candice for also helping to give out flyers on Saturday. And also a huge thanks to the Buildline boys who supplied a cleaned up ,re-stickered and perfectly presented kart to use on the stand.

Teka will be attending more of these events in the future to help promote and build our great series. If you have any ideas or would like to get involved please let us know!
